Robert B. Nichols

Managing Director

Robert has more than forty years of diversified financial service industry expertise covering all facets of field examination, credit risk, underwriting, and portfolio management. Other responsibilities falling under his purview included financial reporting and internal risk control management. Prior to joining Durkin Group in 2002 as a Director, Robert managed the national audit and risk management functions for IBJ Whitehall Financial Group and PNC Bank; both of which had loan portfolios in excess of five billion dollars. He completed Bank of America’s and RMA/Omega credit training programs and has his MBA.

Robert oversees the Group’s engagements for clients throughout the industry and is extensively involved in the internal quality control processes as well as managing multiple client relationships. He oversees the planning, scoping and performance of all survey, field examination and quality of earnings engagements for syndicated and non-syndicated transactions for our clients cash flow, asset based, factoring, retail, and securitization groups.

Robert has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York University and Ramapo College teaching both undergraduate and graduate business and accounting courses. He has been a lead instructor for the Commercial Finance Association’s various professional development programs, namely the Field Examiner School for over twenty years. In 2002, received the CFA’s Harry H. Chen Memorial Instructor of the Year Award for Excellence. He has overseen the development of hundreds of professionals and has sponsored a multitude of candidates seeking their professional accounting license in multiple states.
